4 stars WOW !!!!!!!!

This is my first meeting with French prog and this band. This is their only album so I am excused. It is a very joyful meeting which fills me with joy and awe.

The first song is really superb with it's brooding melody line which reminds me alot about PFM @ their Per Un Amico opus. A superb song. The next song Naufrage starts with a piece of music which reminds me about HARMONIUM. Then some influences from MOODY BLUES and KING CRIMSON kicks in. The superb vocals really adds another dimension to this track. I am close to claiming that all prog rock should be done in French........ Anyway, this is a superb song. The same can be said about L'âme Du Guerrier where the band ups the ante and add some good guitar solos to the mix. This song is almost epic. Les Pauvres starts very decent and develops into a good guitar driven song with a good guitar solo. This is not my favorite track, but it is still a good one. Complot starts with a organ and the vocals drives it down a moody path to melancholy. The guitars and the ending bombastic piece is superb. Another excellent track. The closing track Le Raconteur is a long epic track with a brooding melody, good dueling keys & guitars and superb vocals. A splendid track which is my favorite track on this album.

I can only conclude that the prog rock scene has some hidden gems which surprises me and gives me tonnes of joy. This album is one of them. It was unknown to me 14 days ago. It is now an album I really enjoy. It is a pity that this band only released this album and well deserved that Musea re-released it. This is a gem in their catalogue of very good releases. La Clef Des Songes is both an original and a very good release. It is not as complicated and technical as most symph prog albums are, but the mood and the vocals more than replace the lack of complexity. I believe all fans of symphonic rock will enjoy this release.
