3 stars On their last album "A Tab In The Ocean" there were elements of Pink Floyd. On this one, think Deep Purple or Uriah Heep. It was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs. No studio effects, just hard-core jamming. Taff only plays a Hammond Organ on this whole album--no other keyboards whatsoever. "Good Day" starts this album off and is one of the finest cuts on the album. On "New Day Dawning" it starts out quiet and slow but picks up. They even crossover to the Beatles "Norwegian Wood" on that one for a few bars. "What Ya Gonna Do?" is a upbeat blues rock cut that sounds pretty standard to me (I'm not a blues fan). "1-2-3-4" gets a little funky but still rocks hard. "Do You Believe In Magic" is very good (no, it is NOT the Lovin' Spoonful here. This is a Nektar tune.) "Cast Your Fate" is back to the Deep Purple or Uriah Heep sound. "A Day In The Life Of A Preacher" is okay, but just too long for not really going anywhere. It would have been better at five minutes, not 13. "Wings" is another slow one and then comes "Oddyssee" which starts off very jazzy and picks up momentum. This one is instrumental. This is not a progressive album in the sense that "Journey, Tab, or Remember The Future" is. But if you enjoy the interplay of guitar/organ or are a Deep Purple or Uriah Heep fan, then this is for you.
