YULE RITUAL

This solid set from a festive season concert from 2000 finds Hawkwind focusing not on their more recent material, but archival stuff - largely hailing from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Simon House and Tim Blake rejoining on violin and synthesiser respectively may have had something to do with this. A few earlier cuts make it in - in particular, Michael Moorcock gets phoned up in Texas so he can deliver deranged renditions of the Warrior At the Edge of TIme and Sonic Attack monologues. With the best of late-1990s live Hawkwind already largely being captured on the Love In Space album, it's fun to hear this iteration of the band revisit this earlier 1976-1982 period, resulting in a unique set.
