4 stars Kansas's debut album shines like a lantern on a dark evening, the music being somewhere between mainstream classic rock and easy-listening progressive rock with a "happy" feel to it. The violin giving the band their recognisable sound, fast playing dynamic piano with rhythmic rock and roll bass and drum play provides for an enjoyable overall-sound. This debut-album already makes the promise of great works to follow. The've set the tone for their forthcoming albums. This is not a masterpeice, but it provides enough good tunes to be considered something close to it. After "Leftovertures"and "Point of know return" this is their next best thing. Give it a try. Very much Recommended
