4 stars Nope the East Germans were not allowed to listen to this wonderful concert. While the front runners of BJH were groups later titled as "Neue Deutsche Welle" (- horrible when you want to hear BJH only) BJH later had to perform in pouring rain. Guess a lot of the 250.000?? visitors have left during the concert already. It was a great concert right in front of the Reichstag and only about 150 mtrs from the Berlin Wall. Next day we read in the papers that the Volkspolizei pushed away those Eastgermans who wanted to listen to these unpolitical songs of BJH.

Ey - the concert itself and the atmosphere there were much better than the vinyl version - but the album is an essential for all those who were allowed to listen to this free Concert For The People in Berlin
