5 stars The 10 year gap really worth it. This record is more like an statement, a view of the mind, a showcase of perfection and common sense. With this record, Gabriel supported his crusade, of a fine exposure of world rhythms blended into the new sound formats of this millenium; DARKNESS, the opening song, is really a shocking piece, noises, silences, tears, voids... an introdution to the beatifully crafted GROWING UP, a mix of sounds, and feelings. SKY BLUE is a clear sad song with hope in it, very silent and slow tempos, NO WAY OUT, I GRIEVE and THE BARRY WILLIAMS SHOW are into the "classical "Gabriel sound, making them a very enjoyable and good mid section of the album, a strong line, leading into the controverted MY HEAD SOUNDS LIKE THAT, but with a little pace into MORE THAN THIS, and finishing with very emotional songs SIGNAL TO NOISE (with guest vocal by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan) giving a very deep and sad ambient, and THE DROP, a clear sound- off song, letting the mind be into an intimate space. So, being a record with such high end emotions is not a very easy task to hear it all at once, try to dig into it little by little, enjoying every piece. a jewel of prog, and music in general
