4 stars One of the best records by this incredible musician, able to produce, in over 35 years of activity a very large amount of albums, collaborations and soundtrack. Of the Yes period there is nothing more to say, when he was in the band played the best music of the history of the group. And this is obvoiusly a clear indication about his genius. Talking over Six Wives is easy: as a solo keyboardist opera, this concept album is a masterpiece and stands in hall of fame of prog music. More then this shows an incredible variety of styles and influences. Starting from the fact that at the time it came out Wakeman was inside Yes, you will find some surprises in how some of the tracks or part of some songs sound. Classical influences are still strong and the basic technique of Rick way of playing are naturally very close to classical music. But there is more then this and some drop of jazz, funk and rock and roll are present as well. Good performances by the musicians involved in the Six Wives project (Bill Bruford on drums !..Alan White, the incredible work on percussions by Frank Ricotti) add the final touch to a record that all the prog fan should have in their collections. Reccomended ! Bye
