SOMETHING HEAVY GOING DOWN (LIVE FROM THE TWILIGHT ZONE)

My chief reason to buy this live set was wanting to hear the live version of Radar Love and Twilight Zone. Golden Earrings was one of the bands that color my childhood and I really love their 70s album like 'Together' (maybe my best favorite) especially with the tune 'From Heaven From Hell'. Unfortunately I never heard this song being played live - it's probably the studio version had Barry Hay sung in relatively high octave (scream) that he could not repeat on stage. And so the case with this live set there is no 'From Heaven From Hell'. Too bad. It's also the fact that the song was never as popular as Radar Love or Twilight Zone.

Now with this live set what I enjoy is the dynamic of the band on stage like the one Barry Hay demonstrated when he communicated with the crowd from the opening track 'Long Blond Animal' (6:16). ' Twilight Zone' (10:17) that comes after the opening track is performed excellently by the band. I really love this song especially with its smooth flow from start to end plus the energy of the music, even though the music is quite simple straight forward pop rock music. I love the chorus part. The other interesting track is of course 'Radar Love' which is performed longer than the original version.

If you love Golden Earrings, I think you will enjoy this live set. Keep on proggin' ..!
