2 stars Dutch prog band "For absent friends" are supposedly inspired by Genesis and Rush ?? There´s absolutely no trace of either bands in this compilation. But there are moments ...hints....of say...no make that... mellow....they are a softprog band from Holland. I think this is a Neo prog band.....they are an ok neo progband. But the thing is..there is NOTHING new in their approach.....Ok ok...they can play... buy so can my uncle Harry...im afraid that im gonna knock these guys down!! This is middle of the road popprog....its like....ahem as exiting as watching an apple tree growing...you know whats coming..you just dont know when...if ever!!! Now i can hear that they know their stuff...but they just dont seem to get there... wherever that is!!?? Sorry guys......back to the drawing board....now i know this is a compilation... therefore its an example of their albums...6 in all. Maybe i have to check their regular albums? Ill be back!!
