3 stars After a couple of weaker albums, I really didn't know what to expect from this "Geometry Of Love".

Let's say that JM released a decent album, full of ambient moments as we all like while listening to his music. At least, this is how I feel during the first three opening tracks.

The music is somewhat cold and inexpressive, but pleasant. One of the longest part here, "Pleasure Principle" that opens the album is my fave and reminds some of good old days. A track as "Soul Intrusion" while still OK, holds too little texture to be really interesting or above average though.

This album can't be compared to the best from the man, but it is enjoyable to listen to during almost the entire journey, with a special mention for "Electric Flesh" which is quite moving and melodic. A bit sad though? The same feeling can be felt during the relaxing "Skin Paradox". Another good track by the way.

It is true to say that JM said it all long before this release, and that over thirty years after his debut, it is not easy to innovate again and again. Who can, by the way? So, we'll have to take it as it is: "Geometry Of Love" is a decent electronic music album that won't generate a huge number of new fans, but that can tranquilize some old ones.

JM provides a much better album this time than these "Interior Music" or "Sessions 2000". Some songs are still too much elevator ("Velvet Road") or piano-bar oriented ("Near Djaina") . These aren't of any value to the artist discography (nor the second part of the title track).

Three stars.
