5 stars Tangerine Dream continues to evolve with Force Majeure. After Peter Baumann departed a couple of years back, TD came out with Cyclone, which had some excellent music but also contained a live drummer and vocals. While I enjoyed the album, the fans and possibly Froese was not too pleased and vocalist Steve Joliffe was gone by this album.

Force Majeure rocks harded than anything TD had done previously. Spacey atmospheres, acoustic and electric guitars added with some nice drumming and TD had an excellent album. Only 3 tracks long but 3 excellent pieces they are. My only reservation about this album is that Thru Metamorphic Rocks tends to go on a bit long w/o the necessary development to back it up. Unfortunately TD, would never explore this side of prog rock again as drummer Klaus Kreiger was gone after FM and Edgar Froese and Chris Franke would soon enlist Johannes Schmoelling and they were off exploring other sonic territories.

A very strong 4 stars!
