4 stars This album is almost like a glimpse of the future of prog, and in some ways the past of prog. All in all this is a little gem of an album, of course revolving around the final track (although on some cd's it is split into parts) KARN EVIL 9, an epic closer at just under 30 minutes, and its a fantastic song full of complex keyboard textures and a 'song within a song' structure. Although the other songs on this release arint as strong and become quite a mixed bag, starting out with the grand almost fanfare sound of JERUSALEM, the epic instrumental of TOCCATA, the beautiful folky STILL..YOU TURN ME ON, and the quite wierd BENNY THE BOUNCER that sorta sounds like The Who's 'Borris The Spider' a little, none of which even match up to the final song but more so just sound like a lead up, something to hold your attention until the song arrives. I dont really need to go into detail about either the music or the playing on this album as i think everyone knows just how classic and iconic this album is, production is great (although i have the re-mastered version so they have cleaned it up a bit more from the original) and yeah just a great wee album in general;

Jerusalem - 9/10 Toccata - 9/10 Still... You Turn Me On - 8/10 Benny The Bouncer - 7/10 Karn Evil 9 - 10/10

My Conclusion? yup a great release from this great band, its a strong reccomendation from me, 4 stars.
