4 stars A great debut from Aspera. Their music falls somewhere between Dream Theater and Symphony X. The musicianship is really top notch. Strong melodic vocals, great guitar solos, drums and keys. And more important, there is no filler song. I like the last three song most(and the guitar solo on the last song 'Great Purpose' is the best solo of this album). The drummer is very close to Mike Portnoy and carries his dynamic style succesfully. Sometimes guitar and keybord are soloing together as we see in Dream Theater and some other progressive metal bands. The only problem is, they need more unique style. Their music sounds very familiar to anyone listens progressive metal genre. But if you think this is a debut, you can ignore this problem until their next record. I'm definitely eager to hear new songs from these guys!
