4 stars Mars Hollow's maiden outing is a pretty enjoyable album overall. I will go ahead and say that it is definitely not the most groundbreaking progressive music you will ever hear. However, it is an interesting collage of prog styles, both past and present. I hear bits of Radiohead and Dream Theater, as well as references to older groups such as GG, KC, Yes, and Genesis. All of it is sewn together with some very nice melodic pop sections in a way that will not be unfamiliar to fans of bands like A.C.T. or Spock's Beard/Neal Morse.

Overall rating- 4.

A promising debut from some talented musicians. If they can inject some more uniqueness in subsequent works, this band will achieve great things, no doubt.
