The music here is somewhere between Danzig, Queensryche and Dream Theater. You can split the influences three ways, thirty three percent to each of these bands. This album deals with unsolved murders and it has a dark undertone. The first thing that hit me was it's similarity with the classic TV series Twin Peaks. The same ambience is running through the whole Moira's Lake album. Horror, in other words. The darkened vocals also gives this album the cult movie feeling too. I am not that much into movies though, but I am sure those of you who loves dark movies may find this album to your taste. Well, I am pretty sure of it so start the download now.

The music is dark, brooding and sinister at places. This is at times not a metal album though. Yes, it has some hard chugging guitar riffs. But it is mainly dominated by an almost eclectic sound. I guess crossover is the best genre at most of this album. I also get Depeche Mode vibes here too. Then again, the Dream Theater riffs comes in and you also get a lot of Queensryche feelings from their Operation Mindcrime era. The sound is based on both guitars, tangents, the dark and light vocals of Niko and some sound samples.

The quality is very good throughout. My main gripes is the lack of some really great tunes throughout this album. The ones that makes the listener really put a big circle around the name of Envinity. Then again, there is not a single weak track on this album. The sound is good too and this makes this an excellent free download and a good, worthwhile purchase if I had to fork out $ 15 for it.
