4 stars There are so many fun elements in here. Tasteful black metal, folk instruments and melodies, ambient sounds that don't go too far--it's hard to decide where to start.

Let's start with the overall impression: beautiful execution and production really show off some really unique metal crossover mixes. Ambient, folky, metal-y, atmosphere-y--and the most odd part for a metal album--patient.

Despite the long tones and gentle folky sections this album has a refreshing amount of clarity to it. Every element is in its place, balanced gorgeously, and functioning in a great synergetic sound.

Really, this album offers quite a bit to enjoy, so I recommend you do so.

Four stars.
