ALPHA CENTAURI

This is where it all began! This is where Tangerine Dream started a music revolution. Less guitars and drums, more and more synths. But it's not all synths, there's flute, organ, guitar and drums as well, but the synths are starting to take over in Tangerine Dream's music on this album. Klaus Schulze left, but in came Chris Franke, a part of the classic Virgin-era TD. And the influence this album has had on space prog and electronic music is massive. This really is where it all began in my books. The VCS-3 synths that would later appear on Phaedra also appear on this album. My favourite track is "Fly and Collision of Comas Sola" which starts with a depressing Moog synths, then develops and finally ends in a climatic dialogue between the flute and the drums. I'm speechless! 5/5 stars.
