5 stars In my opinion this is the first album of prog rock and is absolutely genius...though all of the album is not prog it created a large influence on experimental music with classical influences and instruments, especially 20th century classical (Stravinsky, Varese, Webern, etc.)...this is somewhat a culmination of Zappa's early career genius and the many styles he mastered such as garage-rock, doo-wop, mo-town, psychedellic, sound collage, fun rock n' roll, lyrical satire and criticism, etc. Some gems are the in-your-face "Hungry Freaks Daddy", the greasy "Go Cry...", the psychedellic "Who Are The Brain Police?", the mo-townish "How Could I Be...", the fun "Wowie Zowie", and the last cycle of experimental sound collage songs (12, 13, 14). Actually writing the previous was pointless because just about the whole album has all-town I recommend this album for anyone, especially one interested in the many styles of 60's rock and proto-progressive.
