DIES IRAE

I've really got a soft spot for this album. It is all a bit tongue-in-cheek, you get the idea they don't really want to hurt you, like, say, Univers Zero. Pseudo-scary, yet highly emotional at times and altogether gorgeous. Very maudlin, with bloodcurdling screams, incisive lyrics and many unforgettable moments ("Mama...I'm cold..."; "Smile, or simply ivory"). A real wierd one, and a grower for sure. One of my favorites for the ages.
