4 stars An excellent live album from the late, great musical genius Kevin Gilbert. While he could play pretty much everything Kevin plays bass during this performance, along with his vocal duties, and Nick D'Virgilio of Spock's Beard fame plays drums. The majority of the set is comprised of songs from Kevin's solo cd Thud, and carry over quite well live. This music is not your typical prog and is very acoustical and song driven, with thoughtful and at times cynical lyrics.A highlight of this set is the beautiful song "Tea for One" and the unreleased song "Miss Broadway" featuring great solos by guitarist Russ Parish. Also included is a live version of the song "The Ballad of Jenny Ledge"(a song from Gilbert's earlier band Toy Matinee)and a great cover of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir".An exceptional performance by a musical genius that was taken from us way too soon.4 stars
