This is a very nice melancholic metal album but it's far from being a five-star-masterpiece. Anathema has improved a lot since their early days. With "Eternity" the death-doom metal is gone and in place we have some nice dark melodic metal, their sound being a metallic and slower version of the great band Fields of the Nephilim.

All in all not a milestone of progressive music, but a nice listen though.
