4 stars Cosmic Connections is the sound of explorations in enigmatic deep space. Compared to most of Phrozenlight's albums released prior, this album is a bit darker. The sound effects used give this album a horror/sci-fi kind of feel - mechanical grating, high-pitched hypnotic frequencies, cosmic growling, all firmly placed atop an airy drone. I see this album as the evil counterpart to "Driftin' Between Starsystems", and it even runs at the same 70-minute runtime. I can definitely see the Klaus Schulze Irrlicht/Cyborg influences on this album. Cosmic Connections is definitely another highlight in the Phrozenlight discography, and the sinisterly cosmic atmosphere can really help conjure up some dark imaginative landscapes.
