the qunitisenntial 'proto-prog' offering from italy - the band is 'e.a. poe', not 'edgar allen poe'.

these folks are another classic italian 'one-shot' of the early seventies - like apoteosi, semiramis, and the like.

they managed to bring together a harmonic/melodic early '70s sound with the early roots of prog experimentation. "per un'anima", "ad un vecchio", and particularly the title song, "generazioni (la storia di sempre)" are some of the most stunning early prog out of italy - wonderful organ, warm, somewhat haunting melodies, and a conclusive climax provide one of the very best exposures to italian proto. my very highest recommendations. 15/15.
