4 stars Now, the second.

After I listened and loved the debut album of the Progstravaganza series, I did not hesitate and downloaded the second one immediately. This time the curiosity trapped me because I was not familiar with half the bands listed now, so I wanted to know them or at least have a glance of their music. It is good that these talent bands are getting more exposure everyday, and that sites like Prog Sphere are supporting them, so everything is a team work.

One thing I would like to mention is that I really like the cover art in these compilation albums, they are really original and attractive. Now returning to the music, here we will find eight songs from eight different acts, bands from Chile, United States or Belgium, to name a few. And once again we will find a rich variety of sounds and genres that will make you have more than an hour of great music.

We can appreciate from the psych/stoner rock of Siena Root, passing through the eclecticism of Mar de Robles, Hypnos 69 and Eyot; the spacey atmospheres of Oresund Space Collective; the symphonic and keyboard-oriented themes in Manning, to the metal and heavier side of prog with Scale the Summit, so you can have a slice of different flavors, you decide which is your favorite, mine are OSC and Hypnos 69's tracks, with a special mention to Eyot's Horizon, which was previously unknown to me and that left me with a nice impression.

Good compilation album, though I like it I still prefer the first one, but that is a matter of tastes and subjectivity. If you are keen of knowing new and talented bands, these progstravaganza albums are a good opportunity, you can download them for free. My final grade will be four stars.

Enjoy it!
