3 stars Someone was asleep at the wheel with this sampler. The track listing is all wrong for the first seven tunes but the last two are right. Someone moved the PALLAS track from it's seventh position to number one pushing all the rest back one spot. A definite blunder when you consider that most who listen to these are checking out new bands they might be interested in. It was when the AMPLIFIER song was to come on that I said to myself "That's not them !" And found out the problem. Worst cover ever when it comes to Prognosis samplers. Fortunately the music is well done, in fact better than the previous one overall. I'm going to review the tracks in the order they appear on the cd.

First up is PALLAS' "Falling Down". I've never been much a fan of this band but this is the best song i've heard from them and it's tied for my third favourite tune on here. I like how heavy it is and the chorus is catchy. ESTHERS EDGE's "Facing Reality" is laid back and repetitive. Reserved vocals just before 2 minutes. It starts to pick up before 5 minutes. Good song.

"Revolution Of Light" by AISLES is very uplifting and poppy. A definite mood changer. "Staring At The Sun" by CREDO is uptempo with lots of synths early. Guitar before 2 minutes.Vocals after 3 1/2 minutes as it settles in. Not bad.

IN LINGUA MORTUA has the Cookie Monster from Sesame Street singing for them. Not a fan. "Intersteller" by AMPLIFIER is without a doubt my favourite song on here. I love when it settles in before 1 1/2 minutes.Vocals follow. Some headbanging moments on this one. It's so uplifting 7 1/2 minutes in then the vocals return and i'm flying. Pure emotion. What a song !

MODEST MIDGET's "Contemporary Ache" is tied with PALLAS' song for third. This is great. Nice and heavy as the vocals join in. A real headbanger. "Dark Star" by PANIC ROOM is good with the organ to start before the vocals and a fuller sond come in.

SPOCK'S BEARD's "From The Darkness" is my second favourite. Man this is a monster 17 minute track. Heavy to start until it turns spacey after 4 1/2 minutes. The drumming on the heavy section is killer. Reserved vocals and a mellow section follows the spacey calm. It picks up before 10 minutes with guitar. Reserved vocals and piano before 14 minutes.

A good sampler all things considered.
