4 stars "Seancé" was the first serious approach to find the true identity of this band after two albums that were not very much related with the sound we are used to. And for a first approach, the result was pretty much convincing, although we should remember that we find the band at a quite early stage, so better efforts are yet to come.

This is the first record where we clearly find pieces of the characteristic atmospheric sound related to this band, although they seem to be quite timid in their establishment yet. The best songs we can find here are "Fly", their first of a set of legendary intro songs, "One day", with an excellent guitar work (drums are another thing, like I will mention later). "Dissapear", a calm and good song, and others like "Electric lash" or "Dropping names", two excellent pieces of melodic art rock.

So, this album in general terms was a good step forward in their artistical quality that every band searches in their early days. However, there are some things that are at least argueable. The first one is that songs like "It's no reason" seem a bit weak for me, and others like "Travel by thought" seem too weird for me, althought this one might be considered as good with some listens. And the second and most important factor that I find "strange" here are drums. Richard Ploog is credited as the drummer here, but in a lot of songs the sound of drums seems a bit 'unnatural' for me (like they were using a machine).

Anyway, this record, without being their best yet, was the first glimpse of what we would find in following efforts (although "Remote Luxury" was a surprising step back).
