VOYAGE OF THE ACOLYTE

Recorded by Steve Hackett with some Genesis pals in tow whilst the band were deliberating over their post-Gabriel direction, Voyage of the Acolyte is a brilliant showcase for Steve's skills - both as a guitar player and as a songwriter. I don't think it's a classic from beginning to end - I usually end up tuning out during the somewhat lukewarm "la la la la" vocal section on Star of Sirius - but it's packed with great music, from the super-complex Ace of Wands to the magnificent outro to Shadow of the Hierophant. Any fan of Hackett-era Genesis should make this their first stop in touring Steve's solo discography.
