3 stars The way Rush approaches these (great) songs has nothing to do with prog rock and this banal cover-EP makes me think all the time "where's the other side of the LP?" The only thing changed from the originals is the fact they you can see clearly that in the last 30-40 years and now the possibilities in the studio are others than in the late 50's or early 60's, a period in which the artists hat much more inspiration and vision than techinical support... (even the first Rush album, categorised as "pure 70's rock" is much more full of consistency an creativity than "Feedback") I was sure I'll find on the album "Bad Boys" of the Beatles (I have only a very poor recordering of Rush playing this tune in a time before their first LP) instead of 2 Yarbirds and 2 Buffalo Springfield songs which is too much, and it covers a very small area of "musical influences" I think that they look with too much respect at giains such as "cream" or "the who" instead of having a different attitude... more creative/destructive/ironic/bored/etc Anyway, I secretly expected this kind of beautiful surprise from RUSH, and I think it gives a certain aura of "roundness" to their career, although it's not over i hope!
