5 stars "Octopus" - a perfect title for an album with 8 opuses! Their unique style totally matured with this album. No other prog band integrated medieval elements, modern composition techniques and colorful instrumentation in their music in such an effective and original way as GG. Just listen to vocal polyphony in "Knots" for example! They can make very complex but playful music. Their gentle side can be heard in "Think of Me With Kindness". Despite many interesting twists everything sounds unforced and perfectly structured. The tracks (and the whole album) are short but they can say a lot also in a shorter form...

This strange witty music is not easy to grasp at first if someone is used to more conventional prog but it really pays off when you start enjoying it. GG are real giants of prog and "Octopus" is just one of their many masterpieces! Essential!
