4 stars I'd like to start this review off by an abridged version of my history with Rush. My uncle was a fan of Rush sence the 70s, and my Dad got into them in 1980 when my uncle showed him Permanent Waves. Sence then, he's been a huge fan. With both parents constantly playing Rush, among other bands, I grew up liking it. It wasen't untill 2008, however, that I really got into them, especially thier work between 77 and 84. Back in the summer of 2010, Rush released the first single from Clockwork Angles, Caravan/BU2B. It would be another two years before they released the second single, Headlong Flight, in April of this year. And today, Clockwork Angles finaly came out. This is the first album to come out while I'm a "real fan", and boy was I pumped. However, I knew that it probobly woulden't be mind blowing. Rush has, in my opinion, lost a little of it's appeal. But I still love this album. It's a concept album about a young man in a steampunk(ish) world who just dosen't fit in. He goes on adventures, and then recollects, not regreting what he did, even though his life was kind of shitty. The lyrics are really good, as always, but some songs, such as Halo Effect, seem out of place, and a few of the songs seem to right out contradict each other. The music is great. It's complex, varried, well composed and well played. And it's Rush, so it's plenty heavy.

Favorites from the album: "Caravan" "BU2B" "The Anarchist" "The Wreckers" "Headlong Flight" "Wish Them Well" "The Garden"

Over all, this is a great album, with only a few faults. It's probobly the best Rush album sence Grace Under Pressure. 3.5/5

*Note: I read this back and thought it might be confusing. In short, awesome music, great lyrics, concept is lacking.
