4 stars Magical Mystery Tour represents the band at their most psychedelic, a sound they began experimenting with on Revolver and more so on Sgt. Pepper. While I wouldn't say it's as ambitious as either, this is easily one of the groups finest and under looked albums.

There are the psychedelic moments in the instrumental 'Flying,' the dark and mysterious'Blue Jay Way,' the classic rocker 'I Am the Walrus,' and the laid-back 'Strawberry Fields.'

But of course the band has the more poppy songs they're better known for in 'Fool On the Hill,' 'Your Mother Should Know,' 'Baby You're a Rich Man,' and the classic 'Hello Goodbye,' 'Penny Lane,' and 'All You Need is Love.'

Overall, this is a perfect combination of pop-rock and psychedelic moments with a hint of prog. Unfortunately, this seems to be shadowed in popularity by many of the others like The White Album and Sgt. Peppers.
