2 stars Why two stars only? Simply because this album is boring as hell. Listening to Clockwork Angels is a hard job to do. First track is very good, second should be just a B-side of the single, yet it is a bright spot on the album. The further the harder it gets. I am at the age when comfort is more and more appreciated so I finally pressed eject on the player. Could not listen to that album two times in one session. There are high quality skills of the musicians and the unique Rush sound. But for me this is not enough? Remember 1991 when Roll the Bones was out? I was quite critical about that yet I could not stop listening to the album. The sound was poor, but the songs were very CATCHY. And this pattern has been reversed on their latest product. There is little music, there is a lot of echoing clichés (I used that word from one of the previous review, sorry) well-known from the past ? Snakes and Arrows was way much better regarding composing element and it was spinning on a regular basis for at least 3 months on my CD player. I have finally bought the album on CD and I regret that a bit, however, it is going to be the first Rush album that I am not going to get on vinyl. It just does not deserve that. Sorry. Rush is still number two on my personal rock account?. Rush have passed the test for echo, yet they have failed to impress me. I would say this is their worst since Presto and I would not know which one of them to rank higher?
