5 stars A really good collection of Gentle Giant tracks from the BBC archive. This is certainly a must own item for GG fans. One observation, it seems that some of the tracks have been taken from transcription disks rather than tape. This is most obvious on the first version of "the advent of Panurge", but doesn't spoil the music, indeed the odd pop and crackle is rather nostalgia inspiring, if a reminder as to why digital is better. Indeed the session from 28-9-73 is worth the price alone. The Demo version of free hand is rather rough but fascinating all the same. If you already own "out of the woods" this is something of an upgrade addition, but considering the price being asked for new copies, and even 2nd hand copies on amazon right now, it really isn't worth selling a kidney to acquire. Worth buying if you can get it at a reasonable price. Just a final thought, experience here presented in its live form is another cut, which makes this essential what you miss is Kerry's lovely vocal on the original but you gain Ray's exciting ending, which really tops off, one of the all around best numbers.
