3 stars Oceansize - Heaven alive

As a companion disc to the release of Oceansize's second full-length album, the band decided to release the song Heaven alive as a single. The single's fairly straightforwardness is different to what we were previously known of Oceansize's output. The songs on this disc are all very accessible and the space rock side is more or less traded for a more mainstream attempt, though they still keep the complex compositions.

The b-side to this single, I/B/O/W, is obviously a leftover from the "Everyone into Position" sessions. The sound of the song is typical for the overall sound of the more straightforward songs on Oceansize's second album. This varied instrumental piece would fit perfectly onto "Everyone into Position," but I think that that album would be too long if this song also were to be included (already lasting an approximate 66 minutes).
