5 stars This is the real gem in the Gong legacy. Musically they hardly put a foot wrong, the lyrics are a different matter but even in that respect this is better than anything else they did. The first release of this LP was at the super cheap price of 50p and because of this the album charted here. What we have here is a classic of acid rock and introduced the British to this odd continental band. The drumming throughout holds the sound together, and what a sound strangely compelling hypnotic but not boring. Tropical Fish/Selene remains my favorite cut and here there is none of the muddled sound which ruins Angels egg. Like many prog bands Gong would develop some ideas more than others but here everything seems to find a balance. I recommend this LP above any other Gong recording buy it you will not regret it!
