4 stars Definately 4 star rating, I can't believe it has gone unrated. This is my first album from RH and I was very impressed. Definately in the market for some more RH next time I am down in London. This album is a continuous wall of sound with short tracks woven between longer main tracks. Good job really as it gives you a chance to get your breath back.

3 stars I've been following RH from a long time ago, and this cd it's maybe the lower of their career. That doesn't mean that it's bad. It is the worst of the best, something like that. I have have to say that John West is one of the best singer ever. This record got a very cool songs like WORLD WIDE WAR, SURRENDER, DAYS OF NO TRUST TOTAL RECALL, CLEAN SWEEP, THE MISSION and MEATMORPHOSIS. A very good album.

4 stars After the good, but also a little disapointing Fear, came The Mission. Well, after Paradox, this is my favorite Royal Hunt album. The group again picks up their metal and prog influences and makes a concept album, this time based on Ray Bradbury's The Mars Chronicles. And they did a very good job.

Ok, the album may not be as varied and inspired as Paradox, but so far none did and I really wonder if they ever be able to write a new masterpiece like that again. But that's unfair, since it is asking too much and the fact that the band never really did a bad album puts them above most competitors.

The Mission may suffers the need for longer songs for the musicicans to shine, but the tunes are great and John West soars through the album. They continued to be plaged by changes of drummers. Here old time friend and ex original member Kenneth Olsen (along with Kim Johanneson) comes back. Inevitably Maria McTuck and Kenny Lubcke are helping Royal Hunt with their trademark backing vocals.

A very good album, if you're into prog metal with a melodic side I recommend it.

4 stars Definitelly,my ROYAL HUNT favourite album! Why?I don't know exactly to explain why ,but I think that's because this album has something superior to the other ones in terms of inspiration for composition! All ROYAL HUNT albums are in the same style a little,no real big differences between them, the same sensational production-one of the best in the genre-really sparking and crystal clear, the neo classical rafinated style with symphonic influences,so the mayonnaise is quite the same!JOHN WEST seems to be 100 % in his element on this album and really gives the maximum he can for some inspired songs indeed!Andre Andresen, the mastermind must n't be considered a dictator because he is responsable with all the compositions, but I think that the other musicians in the band have their precise role here! There are many excellent guitar solos and the spatial feeling and mood is omnipresent!I repeat-the production is something almost perfect and some may consider this album to get almost an over production in terms of hyper hi tec quality sound!Impressive!DC COOPER was an excellent vocalist and some ROYALHUNT fans still regret him,but , but defiinitelly he wasn't able to bring nothing new in the idea of progress for this band!WEST is always willing to always push his capacities and to bring a note of drmatism and pathos in his interpretation! Highlights of the album-METAMORPHOSIS-DREAMLINE-FOURTH DIMENSION-sensational tracks indeed!ROYAL HUNT fans are delighted about this album, but THE MISSION is almost esential if you want to owe only a RH album-this is the one you shold get it!!!4 STARS ,close to 4,5!
