3 stars Despite that it was released in the 70's, this album prefigures the massive, rhythmical electronic sound of the 80's with insistent pulsations and efficient melodies. Not far from Tangerine Dream during the last Virgin years (notably with their album "Exit), Hydravion conciliates the structuralism of electronic-minimal beat music with Sci-Fi synth modulations. The result sounds terribly old dated because of the overemphasis put on conventional, commercial keyboards materials. However we can detect some strangely pop, hypnotic, repetitive funky grooves that enrich the musical atmosphere. Some "epic", stimulant but "anxious" electronic melodies could be used in sci-fi, "futurist" movies as "Metropolis", "alphaville"... A nice contribution but hardly recommended to everyone. Founder and key member of Hydravion, Philippe Besombes made so much better & inovative works in solo.
