4 stars A great DVD! Well done. Camera work is where it should be when solos are played. Excellent sound, 5.1 etc.

Don Airey(Jon Lord's replacement) really shines on keyboards here. On par with Jon Lord, really. Also, Steve Morse is truly incredible here, especially on "Pictures Of Home". Of note is a jazz intrumental version of "Smoke On The Water" prior to the main event of that anthem (the were playing a "jazz festival", eh!). Anyway, this certainly shows off what talented musicians these guys are. Actually, I'd like to hear Deep Purple do a jazz album of many of their tracks after hearing this version of "Smoke On The Water". It's quite pleasing to the ear. All in all, everyone shines here. Gillan's vocals? He had a great night on this gig!

Disc 2 is a concert recorded at the Hard Rock Cafe in London, UK. If you ever wondered what Deep Purple would sound like as a bar band...this is an entirely different beast! Don Airey's keyboards are rustic and loud. Killer stuff. The band is having a whole of fun here.

Recommended.
