3 stars Aura is for sure one of the unfairly unknown progressive metal bands from Italy, their first two albums are really strong and will please most of the fans genre. As I said in review on their second album Deliverance, I like a lot this band, the arrangements, vocals , all is almost perfect to my ears.

The debut was released in 2008 named A diffrent view from the same side, and is to me a real solid prog metal album from start to finish. The music offered right from the start is complex, technical but yet melodic with lots of '70 influences, specially in keyboards department. It sounding like it was released in the '90s, that sound that was so dear to me in prog metal music from that times. The vocal provided by Giovanni Trotta who is also the drumer, done a fantastic job, very nice voice for such music, deep with emotions in his tone. The guitars are great, but to me the cherry on the cake is Francesco Di Verniere the keyboard player, he has some fantastic passages, well done and full of intresting parts, he become one of my fav keyboardists from prog metal for sure, an example is The Lord Of Time an 8 min truly beautiful tune. I really don't know why is so unknown this band, they desearve more, the first 2 albums are great. For fans of Lost Dimension also from Italy, Empty Tremor also from Italy and maybe Dream Theater. 3 solid stars, 3.5 stars that is meaning strong release from first to last track.
