VUELO QUIMICO

A good work of this Spanish band. A spacey electronic context but with lots of other elements that make a special music conception very balanced. Some Floydian guitar, made a space music that we remember in other groups. A litle bit of Tangerine Dream in the begining of seventies, and I think that when they found some inspiration to make this album. We can listen a litle chorus in last music that made a beautiful music conection. Not boring and I don't realy apreciate electronic music specialy the comercial electronis but this is a nom comercial work and first time I listen i like. 4 stars because it's a good album

Neuronium must be the most neglected artist in the database with a whole swathe of albums not reviewed or rated. For those who don't know they were to Tangerine Dream what Uriah Heep were to Deep Purple. Ie not quite as good and not quite as interesting. I tend to listen to electronic music like this for one reason. Relaxation. This album only has 3 tracks but 2 are long and will appeal to those who like early to mid seventies Tangerine Dream/Edgar Froese. At around 7 minutes in its quite clear that Ricochet and Encore and good reference points.Very nice and yes very relaxing. The 3rd track features some narration and perhaps manages to establish something a bit more original and distinct at times although always coming back to TD.

Of the first five classic NEURONIUM albums, "Vuelo Químico" ("Chemical flight" in english) is my least favorite.

"Abismos De Terciopelo" ("Velvet abysses") is the best moment of the record. This 20 minutes suite alternates soft spacey passages, sequencers and even has a sung part. Similarities with TIM BLAKE's style can be found. "Viento Solar" is a short enjoyable electronic piece, nothing more.

The title track contains spoken words by female singer NICO. For me, the weak point of the album. "Vuelo Químico" mainly sound like a juxtaposition of slow and peaceful introductions, more than an unified piece. While working as background music, it fails at really starting.

Overall, a pleasant listen, but I would not recommend this album for newcomers.
