2 stars 2 tunes here from 1978's LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL featuring the legends of Ritchie Blackmore, Cozy Powell, and Ronnie James Dio. The second song is "Lady of the Lake". This IS NOT the same "Lady of the Lake" from Starcastle. In fact, it ain't even close. This is a flat out rocker with mythical connections about some lady in a lake waiting for the guys in Rainbow. Predictible rocke with no prog connections. Although I like it more than the first single "LA Connection" which is more of a screaming blues rocker. Both tunes feature typical Rainbow good musicianship and, of course, Ronnie had some great pipes. Not really my kind of music here. I was never a huge Rainbow fan, anyways, but I had the chance lately to check this out so I thought to add the review on this site. 2 stars. Fans only.
