3 stars A Joyful rediscovery.

Following on from Plant's very successful collaboration with Alison Krauss in the genre of Country Rock, he reformed his old band moniker "Band of Joy", who he was in with John Bonham in the mid sixties, employing a new group of musicians around him.

Released on 22nd October 2010, Plant's new musical incarnation covered a joyful album of Country Rock / Blues and early Bluegrass songs, very close to his heart but given full rein here much to his satisfaction. Who knows where Plant's future interests lie, though here moving nearer his early roots but again further away from his Zeppelin years.

The track put forward as a promotional single "Angel Dance" is fine enough, the "House of Cards" is also very catchy song, but on repeat listens the songs on the album get deeper and reveal hidden depths and flashbacks, a skill Plant has developed over the years and here put to good use, the mystery and ethereal magic is still strong, as I hope all his future works will continue to be, whatever they may be.
