5 stars DUTCH MASTERS is a fantastic compilation of an important and fabulously talented early prog band.

This disc (coupled with the essential HAMBURGER CONCERTO) shows the band at the height of their creative powers, before they delved heavily into jazz.

The album features the signature "Hocus Pocus" in two different versions (the 2nd is even more frantic than the original!), along with other standout tracks like "House of the King," "Sylvia" and "Love Remembered." In fact, there's not a weak song among the lot!

5 stars This is what got it all started for me too bad it has never been available on CD for you younger guys. In my opinion the best copilation ever and the best introduction to a band back when the were at the top of their game. You've got classical, jazz and heavy rock influences from their first three albums. Five stars hands down no contest.

5 stars Dutch masters, indeed! Some of the most intricate and imaginative guitar this side of Frank Zappa, and the only instance I can think of when yodelling and rock 'n roll actually work together well. These guys should have been bigger than they were, and the album should be released on CD; I've already worn out two 8-track copies!
