2 stars This was released in 1973, around the release of "Inside". This is not at all as good as the psychedelic rock jams on "Inside", but this are Eloy's controversial side. Radio frendly and woosey... I know about this because they are bonus tracks on the remastered cd of "Inside". No, Eloy shouldn't be played on the radio as "Pop-Music". They should stay with their good synth based psychedelic jamming instead. I don't like this, and i don't think other fans of "ELOY" will enjoy it eiter.

2 stars Very much in the same spirit as inside, only faster and shorter.

I quite enjoy both songs quite a lot, they are less epic, less developed than the tracks on inside, but they are two pieces of easy digestible, psychedelic, danceable Eloy music, and while i wouldn't chase all around the world for the original single, it is quite anice addition to the remastered edition of "Inside". Only 2 stars because... well, it's a darn single of 6 minutes music in total, but out of a "darn single with 6 minutes of music", it's easily worth 3 stars. If you like early Eloy, that is.

2 stars Try to get this if you can, as it is an absolutely must for any collector

This very rare single was re-issued and remastered more than 25 years after its original release, in the 2000 re-release of the Eloy album Inside, also from 1973, like this little single. I don't really have the original single from 73, as it is a rare item even in Germany, where it was originally issued (or should i say West Germany? oh, never mind. . .), but i do have the re-release of Eloy's second studio album and it has this single as bonus tracks, so i think it is OK for me to write this very review.

Both songs are very good psychedelic songs, though not being important for Eloy (they are not present in any Eloy compilation so far, excepting the Inside remastered re-issue). The opening song, Daybreak, have (what it seems to be) a string quartet playing along with the band and it actually sound very good. This is the first mix Eloy would ever do with classical instruments, being the second in the album Dawn. The second song, called On the Road, is a pretty straightforward psychedelic rock song with a nice organ work.

Overall, this single is actually quite good and, if i have the opportunity, i would by it in a heartbeat, because it is a very rare release from this great space rock band, but it is not essential by any mean. In fact it is more like a collectors item, so i gotta give to this single 2 stars.
