4 stars Since 1972, Florian Fricke has been working with the director Werner Herzog, whose films acquired increased intensity thanks to Florian Fricke's musical trademark (peaceful, acoustic & electric dreamscapes with many "native", ethnic elements). Fricke and his band composed the sound-tracks to the films "Aguirre, der zorn gottes", "Herz aus glas", "Nosferatu", "Fitzcarraldo" and "Cobra Verde". The independent nature of his music has conceptually proved to be a great asset to Herzog's films, which have often a somnambulistic character. Consequently here is an other best of about the prolific collaboration with Werner Herzog. Knowing that all compositions are taken from different studio albums of Popol Vuh, it can also be a great compilation or an introduction to the band's career.
