5 stars This is simply a double album CD (two albums on one disc) comprising of Klaatu's first two releases. That said, the reviews on PA are the place to see what the average opinion is. In mine, both are classic albums. 3:47 E.S.T. , book-ended by two marvelous out & out prog songs. Calling Occupants is their best known song, and a great symphonic pop tune. The Carpenters even had a hit with. The other end of things is Little Neutrino, a nine minute plus voyage account from your friendly sub-atomic particle - the neutrino. Voice manipulations, symphonic synths, sparkling acoustic guitar backing, this could easily fit easily on a Floyd album. The rest abound with Beatle-esque melodies, with a sprinkling of Beach Boys' harmonies. The fact that some here at PA question the album's progginess is, IMHO, more due to the poppiness than any actual lack of a progressive attitude. Klaatu often mentioned the Moody Blues as an influence. And yet, the Moodies' oeuvre is not littered with any side long suites, multi-tempo/time shifts or other esoteric effects. The same with Klaatu. Hope, though is another thing. See the rating and know that it is well deserved. I would even recommend the Sun-Sets release and also give the complete orchestral version as well (review to come someday) As I quote myself quoting someone else from a long ago review - this album is the perfect meld of a rock group & symphony orchestra. Not just an orchestra used as backing, or a rock group super-imposing rock or pop ideas on top . But an actual team, each playing the part required where needed. Well worth your money if you can't justify buying them separately. Though, check out Klaatu's site, as there are reviews as to each releases' sound qualities or lackings, thereof.
