4 stars This CD has very good sound quality. Id say it almost compares with Live At Budokan. In my opinion it is a must have if you are a die hard DT fan. My favorite would be the improv jam they do. I love when you just let these guys go and do what they do best. There are also 3 songs that are all instrumental. Pick it up if you have the chance.

4 stars A live, official bootleg album of one of the greatest Progressive Metal bands in the world, Dream Theater. Throughout the years, "Theater of Dreams," the leading group of Dream Theater's International Fanclub (DTIFC) has released tons of live albums from the band. This is one of them.

The title of the album means that DT are back at home. New York, and perfoming at Madison Square Garden. Instead of performing in just Manhattan though, there are live tracks recorded from other shows across America. Thus making it "A Sort of Homecoming." It's cute. Come on. Anyways, on the album, we get twelve songs, one being the live add on the radio, promoting the MSG show, and two newer songs done with improvisation. Them being The Oakdale Odyessy and The Spirit of St. Louis - both excellent tracks. Along with those three, we get ourselves As I am, Honor Thy Father, Caught In a Web, Stream of Consciousness, and solo spots from Portnoy and Petrucci. It is a very good live album with about two problems with it. One, which you get an apology for, is that there is limited distortion with the first few tracks. Second big problem is that Portnoy's drums buzzed a lot when he played the higher toms. Like, they are good songs, just the recording was not too great.
