4 stars This album is almost as exclusive as Music for Supermarkets! Having failed to obtain it on CD, I resorted to buying it from iTunes (it's not even included on the JMJ website discography!). Well, realised that this album was never intended as a full JMJ album project for mass release, and composed for the VIP room (some French club or something?!)... I thought I'd not expect too much. I was most surprised to find a very accessible chill-out style album, very smooth, atmospheric, plenty of piano thrown in across the album.. almost jazzy. I think it's a great album to play in the background, yes very 'coffee table' music, but dont underestimate how good this album is. Not a Jarre classic, and mostly not very Jarre... but still well worth a listen. It's almost a concept album, it all fits together nicely, no great surprises anywhere but it's very satisfying in its delivery. For Jarre fans... you must buy... you are missing out on a something if you dont give it a go! For everyone else, if you enjoy chill-out electronica - you cant go wrong with this.

3 stars "Geometry of Love" followed the footsteps of "Sessions 2000" with the same relaxing and chillout mood to it, just like longue music. Less interesting though, but not a bad album at all overall. Jarre still convinces that he can write good material for an album, though some of it is less successful musically than it could be, but if he could mix the material featured here with something from his mid-90's stuff, this one could be even better I think. The opener, "Pleasure Principle", is a very moody tune with a very atmospheric ambient middle section, but the most sad track here is definetly "Near Djaina", a very sad piano track and is one of Jarre's more moody stuff. The rest is more upbeat, notably the addictive title cuts. Still, the album has an uneven feeling to it, but it's not bad overall.

This work might not appeal to regular progressive rock fans at all, but Jarre freaks should give it a try. Like "Sessions", this one is a grower. 3.25/5

3 stars After a couple of weaker albums, I really didn't know what to expect from this "Geometry Of Love".

Let's say that JM released a decent album, full of ambient moments as we all like while listening to his music. At least, this is how I feel during the first three opening tracks.

The music is somewhat cold and inexpressive, but pleasant. One of the longest part here, "Pleasure Principle" that opens the album is my fave and reminds some of good old days. A track as "Soul Intrusion" while still OK, holds too little texture to be really interesting or above average though.

This album can't be compared to the best from the man, but it is enjoyable to listen to during almost the entire journey, with a special mention for "Electric Flesh" which is quite moving and melodic. A bit sad though? The same feeling can be felt during the relaxing "Skin Paradox". Another good track by the way.

It is true to say that JM said it all long before this release, and that over thirty years after his debut, it is not easy to innovate again and again. Who can, by the way? So, we'll have to take it as it is: "Geometry Of Love" is a decent electronic music album that won't generate a huge number of new fans, but that can tranquilize some old ones.

JM provides a much better album this time than these "Interior Music" or "Sessions 2000". Some songs are still too much elevator ("Velvet Road") or piano-bar oriented ("Near Djaina") . These aren't of any value to the artist discography (nor the second part of the title track).

Three stars.

3 stars Created after the Iinaguration of the V.I.P Room, Jarre's Geometry Of Love surely is an interesting rarity. This album follows Jarre's Downtempo/Chilltempo phase of the late 90's and early 2000's, being like the "Premium Edition" of Sessions and Interior Music due to its exlcusive context (being the first edition only available on 2000 copies).

For those that are fan of the easy stuff, want something to put on the background while messing with your friends or for those that are looking for some music for their bar, this album surely is for you. Most of the tracks are either Ambient songs with a lot of textures and easy melodies or slow beats with tons of synths going on both channels but without being too invasive. So, in a nutshell, you can put "chillout music" on Youtube an you will not be missing anything from this album, as it is your typical chill music with a touch of Jarre's sound and exclusivity.

My selection of songs are Preasure Principle, Geometry Of Love Part 1, Skin Paradox and Velvet Road, the other ones are a little too "meh" and the second part of Geometry Of Love is totally unnecessary as it is a variaton of part 1 but with vocals added.

I will give it 3 stars, don't get me wrong, is a good album, but not essential for your typical listener. Jarre fans who want to complete their collection, people that already knew the album or people that are really into downtempo and chillout should get this album, for them is worthy the time.
