3 stars While looking at the information on this DVD, I noticed the name of Bob Carruthers, for me red alert because he is the man behind Classic Rock (magazine, cd's, dvd's, under different label names) and responsible for some very controversial releases (unauthorized, misleading information on the covers). So I hesitated to buy this DVD but eventually I bought it because I was too curious and I am too much a Genesis freak and collector. The front cover shows a giant picture of Slipperman, unfortunately on this DVD it is only shown a few seconds. But in general this DVD (1970-1980-era) is an interesting one that contains rare live footage from 1972-1980 Genesis, taken from the French, Italian, German, USA and UK television. Especially the French tv 1973 footage with The Knife, Dallas 1977 (USA tv) and the London Lyceum (1980) with In The Cage and Deep In The Motherlode are great, almost worth buying this DVD. The live footage delivers no full length versions and is often accompanied by story tellers (like Chris Welch, a famous journalist who wrote fine books about Pink Floyd and Genesis) or you see split screen images from story tellers and live footage. Despite my severe doubts about everything from Classic Rock (this is from their sub-label Angry Penguin), I have to conclude that this DVD could be interesting for many Genesis freaks!
