3 stars Calprog 2004 official bootleg is a great sampler from the inaugural show. There is Erik Norelander's band performing a great version of Procol Harem's A Salty Dog and In the Court of The Crimson King by KC with Lana Lane singing the vocal.

IZZ doing The Cage Medley is showcase of their talents and also their original song The Wait of it All but the real joy in this CD is 7 songs from Neal Morse playing unplugged.

The performances are brilliant and the sound is stellar on these CD's. Jim Harrell the promoter of Calprog takes great pride in the sound produced at his festival and these bootleg series CD's show why. Years 2004 and 2005 are a little strange because everything is right off the board but it is still very clear. (Mike Keneally also performed but did not donate any material for this package.)

Anyway for $10 you get a feel for the festival and the sound as well as a good sampler for the artists. I hope this doesn't sound like a commercial but they can only be purchased at the WWW.Calprog.Com website and they have each of the four years available. With the four albums there are 16 different artists performing some of their best material and sometimes covers of Classical Prog. I have spent more for less for other things. 3 stars.
